Applications must be British citizens at the time of scholarships

Job Description: The Kennedy Scholarship is an academic award for study at two of the world’s finest universities – Harvard and MIT. It can be used to fund a wide variety of programmes at MIT and across all the graduate schools within Harvard – from PhD to LLM, from MPH to MArch.

It can fund a Visiting Fellowship for a student in the middle of PhD study here in the UK, or a Special Studentship for those wanting a general programme of non-degree study.

How to Apply
Applications are invited during late summer and early autumn. The deadline for submission of complete applications, including references, is normally midnight on the first Sunday in November.

Those applying for awards must be:

* British citizens at the time of application;
* ordinarily resident in the UK;
* wholly or mainly educated in the UK.

Applications cannot be accepted from those already in the United States.

Marriage is not a bar to the award of a Scholarship, but there is no financing for a spouse.

All applicants must have spent two of the previous five years studying at a UK University or University College.

In addition to completing an online form, applicants will be asked to submit an essay (which MUST NOT exceed 1,000 words) giving an account of their academic pursuits, general activities and intellectual interests, plus reasons for wishing to study in the United States, choice of course and institution and plans for the future.

Application deadline: 7th November 2010
